Humanity has been pushed to near-extinction by huge animals known as Klaxosaurs, forcing the survivors to seek safety. Neon Genesis Evangelion
Fifteen years after the Second Impact, the planet confronts a new threat: terrible heavenly entities known as "Angels" invade Tokyo-3 one by one. The anime series 86: Eighty-Six is set in an universe where the Republic of Saint Magnolia has been at war with the Giad Empire for nine years. Despite suffering multiple defeats at the hands of the empire's mechanical armies, the Republic has created its own autonomous troops known as Juggernauts.
Although the public believes that the battle is being fought by robots and machines, the Juggernauts are all operated by people and are all 86 years old, the classification given to the Saint Magnolia minority who formerly enjoyed the same rights as the majority.

Sta Mizushino is a high school student and anime aficionado who hopes to one day write his own light novel. While looking for inspiration while watching the anime adaptation of the mecha light novel Elemental Symphony of Vogelchevalier, his tablet computer sputters and drags him into the anime's world, where he witnesses a battle between the anime's character Selesia and a mysterious girl dressed in a military uniform.
After returning to the real world with Selesia, Sta discovers that other characters from various stories and forms of media have been brought to the real world as well, with some of them aligned with the military uniform princess, who promised them ways to end the strife in their worlds and a way home, unaware of her true intentions. To stop her, Sta and Selesia promise to track out the other characters and return them home, lest the military uniform princess cause immense havoc across the universe.
Full Metal Panic!
Sousuke Sagara, a member of Mithril, a clandestine anti-terrorist private military group, is charged with defending Kaname Chidori, a feisty Japanese high school student, in the series. With the help of his buddies Kurz Weber and Melissa Mao, he comes to Japan to enroll at Chidori's school, Jindai High School.
Sousuke is seen as a military fanatic by his classmates because he views everyday circumstances from a fighting viewpoint, while having never encountered social interactions. He develops a bond with Chidori, who recognizes that Sousuke is defending her, but he refuses to explain why owing to instructions and the reality that he has no idea why Chidori is being pursued by many groups.
Koukaku Kidoutai: Stand Alone Complex
Humanity has progressed to the point that complete body transplants from flesh to machine are achievable in the not-too-distant future. This allows for significant advancements in both physical and cybernetic capability. Humankind has travelled to the stars in the far future and founded the Galactic Alliance of Humankind. The Galactic Alliance is at war with the Hideauze, an extraterrestrial species that looks like a squid. Ensign Ledo, a sixteen-year-old Galactic Alliance soldier, pilots a Machine Caliber, an artificial intelligence-automated, humanoid-shaped mecha dubbed "Chamber" by him. Ledo is pushed into a wormhole and loses consciousness when the Galactic Alliance fails to destroy an enemy super-weapon.
When he wakes up, he finds that he and Chamber have been "saved" by a motley crew of "primitive" human scavengers aboard the Gargantia, a gigantic fleet of spacecraft on an ocean-covered planet. Chamber informs him that local star charts indicate the planet to be Earth, the cradle of mankind, which members of the Galactic Alliance only knew about from legends and considered to be a myth. Ledo must learn the planet's language, culture, and way of life while also discovering his new mission onboard the Gargantia.
Knight's & Magic
Tsubasa Kurata, a software engineer, and Mika Otaku, a Japanese girl, are murdered in a vehicle accident that starts the tale. He is subsequently resurrected in the imaginary realm of Fremmevilla, a medieval planet where fearsome animals known as Demon Beasts are fought with mighty gigantic mechs known as Silhouette Knights.
Ernesty "Eru" Itchavalier, the son of an aristocratic family, was reincarnated as Tsubasa. He enters the Royal Laihiala Academy, an exclusive magical school where Silhouette Knights pilots known as Knight Runners are educated to fight challenges both within and beyond the kingdom, thanks to his amazing magical powers and previous life memories. Later, he linked up with Adeltrud Olter and her twin brother Archid in order to lead the Silhouette Knight in the creation of him, which had been unheard of for millennia.
Sidonia no Kishi
The extraterrestrial civilization Gauna has been hunting the remains of mankind who narrowly survived and fled throughout the galaxy in a series of huge seed ships after destroying Earth many years ago. Nagate Tanikaze emerges from his lifelong isolation deep under the seed ship Sidonia in the year 3394 in quest of sustenance on the top levels, only to be drawn into events that he is unaware of.
When the Gauna attack Sidonia, Tanikaze must protect humanity's final hope for survival and overcome their extraterrestrial enemy with the support of his fellow troops and pals Shizuka Hoshijiro, Izana Shinatose, and Yuhata Midorikawa. Sidonia no Kishi follows Tanikaze as he explores the world that has always been above him and grows into the hero Sidonia requires.
Bokura no
15 youngsters, 8 boys and 7 girls, are having a great time at summer camp when they come across a grotto by the sea. When they enter the strange location, they are greeted with a room filled with computers and a guy named Kokopelli, who introduces himself as the proprietor. He claims to be working on a game with a massive robot that was created to defend Earth from 15 distinct extraterrestrial invasions. Because Kokopelli hasn't had the opportunity to test the game yet, he convinces all but one of the youngsters to sign a contract for what he believes would be a delightful excursion.
However, after the contracts are signed, things start to go downhill quickly. In Bokurano, the youngsters must now operate the huge robot Zearth one by one in the hopes of being able to destroy all of the incoming foes. However, Kokopelli has left out one crucial piece of information: the energy source of the huge robot Zearth.
